MLH Club Limited is looking for a Play Worker (Out of School Club Assistant) with an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in either Childcare; Sports or another subject that supports the development of children to work Part-Time across both of our settings in Croydon.
Hours required: 2:00pm to 6:00pm (Monday to Friday Part-time hours: 20 per week) Term Time (additional hours available during our Breakfast Club and Holiday Club)
The successful candidate will have a thirst for learning and want a career within the childcare setting.
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, fun and loves playing and caring for primary school children from the ages of 3 to 11+ years in our Out of School Clubs.
Our benefits for the successful candidate will be paid up-to £8.91 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits also include accumulative holiday pay, pension, uniform and meals.
We're looking for an enthused individual who has some experience of working with children preferably in a school or quality childcare setting.
You must love caring for and playing with children as we are a play-based setting. You must be prepared to assist with collecting the children from their respective schools, show diligence in everything you do and have a positive attitude and be prepared to roll up your sleeves to join in all activities.
Your main responsibilities will be ensuring that the children are safe and happily engaged at all times. You will be required to carry out observations under the EYFS framework and assist in helping to plan and assist in their learning and development. You will also be required to help set up and put away equipment and toys, set-out tables and chairs, serve their afternoon meals, engage in activities (indoors and outdoors) and carry out administrative tasks, such as completing risk assessments, food safety recordings, accident and incident forms, etc.
You will also be required to interact with parents and carers wherever possible and give feedback on their child/children.
Assist in providing First Aid to the children where required and ensure the safety of the children whilst adhering to Health and Safety requirements within the settings.
The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team supporting the children from local primary schools within Croydon.
MLH Club is taking safety measures in supporting their staff/children and parents/carers by ensuring that risk assessments are carried out daily but also there is sufficient PPE available for use within our settings.
