MLH is looking for an experienced Manager to join our team for Afterschool Club 1:00pm to 6:00pm (includes 5 hours admin a week -Total Part-time hours: 25 per week). (Optional hours also available for Breakfast 7:15am – 9:00am; Holiday Club 7:15am to 6:00pm)
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, fun and loves working, playing and caring for children from the ages of 3 to 11+ years.
You will have the overall responsibility for the day to day operation and management of the club. Your role will include directing a team of Playworkers, promote relationships with our schools and parents of our settings and to ensure safe supervision of children in a fun and engaging setting, whilst adhering to Ofsted regulations.
We are looking for a confident Manager with knowledge of the current Government legislation in regard to Ofsted, EYFS and Safeguarding, to work and implement company policies and procedures.
Qualifications/Experience: Level 3 in Playwork or Childcare. Experience of Out of School Clubs, Childcare and/or leading a team are preferred.
Depending on qualifications, experience and age – up to £11 per hour.

Person Specification: We're looking for an experienced, proactive and qualified Manager (with a Level 3 or above childcare qualification) who has at least 2 years experience managing a diverse team and working with children in a school or quality childcare setting. To be a positive leader and support a group of staff through coaching, mentoring and staff supervisions/appraisals.
You must love caring for and playing with children as we are a play-based setting.
You must be prepared to assist with collecting the children from their respective schools; assist in ensuring risk assessments are carried out; monitor and support observations; ensure the club is compliant with relevant paperwork and meeting the needs of Ofsted. You must show diligence in everything you do and have a positive attitude and be prepared to roll up your sleeves to join in on occasions with activities too.
You will be managing a team supporting the children from at least 4 local primary schools in within Croydon.
Responsibilities: Your main responsibilities will be to help, support and manage the team as well as ensure that the children are safe and happily engaged at all times.
You will be required to assist with the planning of activities, providing support and supervision of Playworkers and other staff, including volunteers. Assist in the administration, record keeping, carrying out observations, promoting the children's learning and development under the EYFS, and also interacting with parents/carers.
You may also need to provide First Aid where necessary, ensuring that Health and Safety standards are met. Help to set up the rooms with equipment and toys including setting up tables and chairs for the children's tea and activities. Help to ensure that activities are age appropriate and diverse - meeting the needs of the age groups within our clubs.
The role is varied, fun and engaging. You will be on occasions working alongside the Provider and continual support will be given building on a working relationship to ensure our team are given the best opportunities to grow and develop into mature professional practitioners
