Taddington Explorers are looking to appoint a pro-active, positive and welcoming co-ordinator to manage our friendly after school club.

Hours: 2.45 – 5.00pm Monday to Friday - term time only. Those applicants who wish to work as a job share are welcome to apply.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, fun and experienced co-ordinator. The applicant must be confident and willing to get involved in the children’s play. The successful applicant will work as part of our team, delivering and co-ordinating a high quality, caring and stimulating environment for our children.

Start Date: As soon as possible

Starting Salary: £8.50 per hour depending on experience.

Job Description

  • To manage and run the after school club
  • To work within the Children’s Act and ensure that local standards and guidelines are adhered to
  • To plan and prepare exciting play opportunities that meet the needs of children and stimulate their learning
  • To assist in the maintenance of a booking and paying system, collect and record payments and deliver to the treasurer
  • To work alongside the Trustees to ensure that all policies are up to date and adhered to
  • To communicate regularly with Trustees
  • To establish and maintain positive relationships with children and their families in ways that value parental involvement
  • To observe and assess children’s development and keep accurate records of their achievements
  • To provide a service that respects children’s life experiences and celebrates diversity in terms of language, culture, ability, race and religion
  • To assist the trustees in reviewing and implementing policies and procedures of the setting to ensure quality for children and their families
  • To be responsible for the setting resources and report loss/ damage or low stock levels to relevant trustees or school staff
  • To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post with regard to the Equal Opportunities Policy
  • To act as an ambassador for the organisation and maintain a positive image of its aims and work
  • To carry out any duties which enhance the work of the organisation

Person Specification


  • Experience of working in a mixed age setting with children aged 3 – 11

Qualifications and skills

  • Relevant level 3 NVQ qualifications. Ability to lead and run a set of sporting activities

Personal qualities

  • Reliable, enthusiastic, good time keeping, patient, caring
