We are looking for a fun, dynamic, enthsiastic person to run our After School Club.

Hungry Minds After School Care is part of Hungry Minds Childcare. We operate out of a lovely Church Hall caring for children from three of our local primary schools.

Duties will include creating and providing a stimulating and inclusive environment for the children to develop socially and emotionally as individuals and within groups. Working with the EYFS framework for the reception aged children to provide individual support and learning opportunities. Developing daily plans. Picking up children from school. Liaising with teachers and parents. Serving a hot meals and cleaning up at the end of each session.

The role also involves running a holiday club from 8 - 6 for seven weeks in the year (A week at Christmas and Easter and the first five weeks of the sumer holiday).

At Hungry Minds After School Care we provide care, fun and learning opportunities for approximately 20 children each session. Our philosophy enables individuals the freedom to grow and develop the necessary life skills for school and adult life and provide activities that enable individuals to learn in their own way and in their own time. We have a variety of stimulating resources to suit and support all children; offer home-cooked food using fresh ingredients and pride ourselves on our facilities. We have a large garden which is used every day as well as a lovely hall and small quiet room indoors for the children. During the holidays we love heading out for day trips to the beach and local parks.

Applicants must share our passion for being active and outdoors with the children; you don’t have to have a childcare qualification although this would be a bonus as would a paediatric first aid certificate. 

You will be offered a full training package to include Paediatric First Aid if you don’t have it, safeguarding policy and procedures including training in recognising signs of abuse and neglect, food handling training and you will be taught a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
