Due to the growth and popularity of our Ofsted rated ‘Good’setting we are looking for an additional Play Worker to join the team.

Hours of work

Term Time – Monday to Friday 2.30 pm – 6.00pm

Holiday Time – Monday to Friday – excl Bank Holidays - 7.30am – 6.00pm

Please note Holiday Club hours are variable, no one is expected to work every day.

Desirable qualifications

  • Level 2 in Childcare/Play work
  • Safeguarding Children
  • Prevent Duty – WRAP
  • Food Hygiene
  • Peadiatric First Aid

Please note that all the above are desirable - training can be undertaken.

Duties and responsibilites

  • Providing a safe and secure environment for the children
  • Observations of EYFS children
  • Collecting children from school
  • Following the Play Work Principles
  • Adhere to company policy and procedure – ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
  • Assist with the planning of activities for the children to include craft, cooking and adult let activities
  • Be a team player
  • Encourage fair and caring play/behaviour among the children
  • Promote independence
  • Recognise children as individuals, ensuring their needs are recognised and met
  • Act as a key person for a group of children and their families
  • To support and promote the development of children’s personal and social development and attitudes and to cater for their physical needs as required
  • To help set up the playroom/s for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session, ensuring that all toys and equipment are clean and safe at all times
  • Interact and play with children and keep up-to-date with current good practice
