GNRC’s Funstars offers wrap-around childcare to pupils of Rusting Community Primary School. We are seeking to recruit to fill the position of Funstars Manager from 4th January 2022 following the career change of our established Setting Manager. This position can be taken up on a term time only or year-round basis, depending on the requirements of the applicant, because Funstars runs Holiday Clubs in addition to Breakfast and After-School Clubs in term time. Funstars operates from 7:30 – 9:00am and 3:00 – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday in term time and 8:00 – 6:00 in the holidays. A 24 hour-per-week contract is desirable, but we are happy to negotiate a different schedule for the right candidate.

This role attracts an hourly rate of £13.15. The main duties include playing with children; taking daily responsibility for the smooth running of the setting; maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, hygiene and well-being for both children and staff; communicating effectively with the school, staff, children and parents; and administration duties such as scheduling, planning, ordering and record-keeping. The manager will also assume the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead, the qualification for which will be supported internally.

The successful candidate will be: energetic and enthusiastic with a professional and engaging manner; an organised team player, able to work seamlessly with GNRC’s Directors and the school; have experience in childcare and/or education with proven skills in engaging and motivating children. Ideally this person will also hold a childcare or education qualification.
