What to expect in this role

We are looking for a permanent play worker for our very popular out of school provision; Early Birds / Night Owls, to start ASAP. The club operates term time only.

Session Times: 7:30am – 8.45am & 3:00pm – 6.00pm. Minimum hours required per week 9 hours and 15 minutes. Maximum hours required per week 21 hours and 15 minutes. With a mixture of morning and afternoon shifts.

The role includes: 

  • Assisting the club leader to provide a safe, happy, fun place to be for our children.
  • To supervise and interact with children to promote their play and positive social interaction.
  • Encourage child participation in all areas of the club empowering them to take responsibility of the club's equipment and environment; whilst following the school’s rules, visions and values.
  • Setting up play spaces including moving & lifting resources and play equipment.
  • Adhering to health & safety procedures, placing the safety of the children as first priority.
  • To prepare and serve light snacks, promoting healthy eating and good table manners.

Early Birds / Night Owls are committed to the protection and safeguarding of its children and this will be reflected throughout the recruitment process. An enhanced criminal record check via DBS will be required and Occupational Health Clearance. A probation period of 6 months will be in effect.

Required education:

  • High school or equivalent
  • Play work / nursery / school experience

Desired education (training can be provided):

  • First Aid
  • Food Hygiene
  • NVQ / CACHE
